A life less extrodinary...

I was absolutely amazed at all the things I learned about some of my fellow Journalers over the weekend.  Many of them posted suprising facts about themselves in their Entries, and then asked their Readers to guess which ones were true.  I was... fascinated.  I thought about joining in the fun, but after a few minutes I realized that there weren't really many things I could write about, that would shock and/or delight MY Readers.  I never worked in a Night Club owned by The Mob like Lanny, from the 'Inside My Head' Journal.  I never kissed a member of any famous rock band, like Monica from 'Whoopie! My Life Is Gonna Be Perfect' did.  My father was never stationed with Elvis Presley in Germany like Sherry's dad from 'The Secret Life Of A Stay At Home Mom'.  I did see a picture he had taken with Roy Rogers at a pigeon race, but somehow, that's not as exciting as Elvis.  And... I've never been given a memento from Mickey Mantle himself, been helped to the Ladies'Room through a crowd by Howard Stern, gotten a Thank You Card from Barbara Walters, ever discussed politics with Bobby Kennedy, or ever, EVER missed an opportunity to have dinner with Mel Gibson like my friend Angela, author of 'My Thoughts' did.  Angela did ALL of those things!  I am not a direct descendant of any royalty, world leader, or celebrity.  I don't hold any records of any kind in any event.  And I've never survived any catastrophe or natural disaster except those that have happened in my own home.  No television commercials or Hollywood movies, either.  I only hope I have a few stories to bore my grandchildren with when they get older.  But I have almost as much fun hearing about other people's adventures as I would if I had them myself.  In the Grand Theater of Life I guess we need both performers and audience members.  So... I'm not only clapping here... I'm standing up.  And to my fellow Journalers and others like them I say... "BRAVO!"

Hey, you changed my life. If I never read all 19 of your first journal entries and laughed until I couldn't breathe, I would have never started writing again. So, I think. young lady, the you are fascinating and funny and belong in the number one spot on AOL!
PS........(just between us) I also think he have a dark past that you don't want to share with true/false issues. I know your type. LOL!

I don't think stars make a life exciting. They are just regular people as we all are. I have never met a star nor do I want to. First of all I am too darn shy. Second of all. I could think of better things to want. It's people like you that are stars in my eyes. I'm just being honest here. You have made me laugh my head off for months. I have read your alien entry 10 times since you wrote it..each time I laugh the same. Your encouraging words to me...always make me feel better.

And it was months ago when I read it...but I have never come accross your journal or a comment from you on mine and not thought of you and your first date and your practicing how to smile or say hello and then getting caught. That in itself is a movie etched in my mind. and you are the star!

When I started that game, I was stuck to think of anything "worthy" to say. We all have things that have come and gone in our lives that are "ordinary" after we've lived them. But only one person lives our life and it is anything but uneventful. Lanny

I was sitting in awe of many of the journal entries that did the truth or fiction and thinking how DULL is my life. But, at the same time, I wouldn't trade it. It's so great the things we can learn about others here in the journals. And your experiences that you have shared have been just as intereesting and star worthy in my eyes. BRAVO to YOU!

You really should write a book, if you haven't already. You have a great use of words. I read a lot and I am enjoying your journal, very much!
