Happy Anniversary to Six Sentence Sunday! What a fun site!
This week, we'll take six sentences from my first paranormal romance 'Passing Whispers'. It's been a year since Kate lost her husband during a robbery. Not only has he come back from the grave to say goodbye, he's trying to help her find a new love. He encourages Kate to go on a date with a co-worker, and promises that he'll stay home and watch a movie on TV.
"Which movie? Let me guess…Ghost, Sixth Sense or Beetlejuice?”
No, he said, putting his hands on his hips defiantly. City Of Angels, actually.
“Why? Does that movie portray the world of spirits in a way that’s closer to the truth than the others?”
No, because Meg Ryan looks really hot in scrubs.
She laughed and threw a towel at him. Then she went into her closet and slipped on a pair of high heels.

He's a ghost then? Intriguing...
Now that's a helpful man.

Cute banter. I wanted to know if the towel went through him? lol
Awesome. I really, really like your excerpt. The chemistry is great.
Great banter! Really enjoyed this six!

That sounds a little odd. How long were they married before he died? That's what I want to know.
Great six.
Fantastic how you formated. The lack of quotes around his speech clearly separates him from the living. The banter between the pair is wonderful and I love the premise behind this. I want to read more!!!
A fun excerpt!
Fab dialogue. xx Nice six.
Very fun, I loved it.
HA! He's too funny!
LOL. Cute!
LOL. All good movies, and a great excerpt!
And now, I can't stop Unchained Melody from playing in my head.
"Oh, my love...my darling...
I've hungered for your touch..."
What an interesting story set up - and I really enjoyed your six!
I like the banter. They sound like a couple who was truly in love :)
Interesting premise. It could be annoying. I keep thinking of Truly, Madly, Deeply (a movie I adore), where her lover returned from the dead, brought all his ghostly buddies and sat on the sofa at all hours bugging her to rent movies for them to watch.
Sounds like a book I'd like to read. Love ones with humor in them.
Great dialogue. :)
At least he's honest, LOL!
Nice six sentences. Taking them a step further, an alternate, more serious reason for Endel choosing "City of Angels",would be that he is identifying most with the movie that carries a hidden message about the purpose of life. Perhaps we were all angels who fell to this earth looking for something, and are still trying to find it. It is not wealth, a decent house or other material concerns. It is what we feel deep inside us when we close our eyes for a moment and shut down all the thoughts. As the main character states in the end of the movie: "One touch of her is sufficient to justify all this suffering I am going through". Maybe our sufferings and problems are a choice we made before coming to this earth - and our purpose of life is to find that one thing we came for.
